The Morgan County Leadership Academy is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1994 that focuses on community leadership development for teens and adults through peer-to-peer networking, providing county insights and resources, skill building, and programs designed to enhance leadership involvement in serving the communities of Morgan County. The Morgan County Leadership Academy is funded through participant fees, corporate sponsorships, and donations from community members who recognize the importance of leadership in community development.
Signature Program
This program is open to adults who live and/or work in Morgan County. Over the course of nine months, MCLA participants gain a solid understanding of the fundamentals of leadership. A key focus of the academy is to emphasize that leaders are not necessarily extraordinary individuals but rather ordinary people who step up to assist their communities, organizations, and workplaces. Today, Morgan County benefits from hundreds of MCLA alumni who actively apply their expertise within local communities, civic organizations, non-profit agencies, and government bodies to foster community leadership at all levels.
Legacy in Leadership
This program is open to adults who have already completed the signature program. Sessions are held four times per year and may be purchased separately or as a discounted pack. Sessions are designed to challenge, refine, and strengthen the way you lead.

The Student Leadership Academy by MCLA
This four-month program is open to Morgan County teenagers. The TSLA benefits youth in Morgan County by providing intentional leadership development at a critical stage in their lives. Students will gain practical skills in communication, decision-making, and teamwork while being exposed to real-world community challenges and opportunities. Beyond skill-building, the program connects students from across the county—broadening perspectives, strengthening relationships, and breaking down school-to-school barriers. It also introduces participants to local leaders and organizations, helping them better understand how they can contribute to their communities now and in the future. By investing in students from diverse backgrounds and abilities, the program helps build a stronger pipeline of engaged, informed, and service-minded young leaders for Morgan County.
