Morgan County’s future depends on prepared, principled, and engaged young leaders. This summit challenges students to think critically, serve responsibly, and lead with integrity.
The MCLA Youth Leadership Summit is a one-day, cohort-based experience designed for high school students who demonstrate leadership potential and a willingness to grow.
The summit will challenge students through hands-on experiences, public speaking, team collaboration, reflection exercises, and professional skill-building sessions focused on ethical decision-making, emotional intelligence, strategic thinking, civic engagement, and communication.
MCLA invites each of the seven area high schools (Eminence, Indian Creek, Martinsville, MCA, Monrovia, Mooresville, and Tabernacle Christian) serving Morgan County, Indiana students to nominate up to ten students. MCLA intentionally welcomes students from varied academic levels, extracurricular involvement, and personal backgrounds. Leadership potential is not defined solely by GPA, titles, or formal positions. We encourage nominations of students who show initiative, resilience, curiosity, integrity, or emerging leadership qualities within their school or community.
There is no cost to participate. Students selected will be expected to engage fully throughout the day and demonstrate professionalism, respect, and a commitment to growth.
Nominating educators are asked to briefly describe why the student is a strong candidate for this opportunity and their how participation may benefit their continued development.
Total cohort size: Maximum of 70 students
Cost: $0 - All meals, activities, and supplies are free to all attendees.
Leadership & Supervision: All adult instructors and chaperones are MCLA Board members or alumni which includes administrator(s) from Mooresville Schools. Each adult will complete the background check process through Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation prior to the event.
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the final 30 minutes to celebrate student achievements during the awards ceremony.
